The Rotary Club of Madison Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that allows club members and the public to make tax-exempt donations.
In the United States, cataract surgery is a relatively simple procedure that is done when a patient's vision starts to diminish when they develop cataracts. In Honduras, cataracts are a blinding condition because people there do not have the means necessary to get the required surgery, and public healthcare is virtually non-existent. In November 2017, a group of Madison Rotarians traveled to Honduras where we examined 21 people who were essentially blind from advanced cataracts. We have arranged for these people to have cataract surgery - now we just need to raise the money necessary for transportation and testing prior to surgery. We need to raise $125 dollars per person ( plus a $3.05 PayPal processing fee) - a small price to pay to give a blind person restored vision and a tremendously enhanced quality of life. Please consider donating to the Rotary Club of Madison Foundation where 100 percent of your donation will be used to restore vision for a person in Honduras who is functionally blind. You can donate $128.05 if you want to sponsor one complete surgery, but donations of any amount are welcomed. Our goal is to raise $2,689.05 to complete the surgeries for these 21 people in need.
Thank you very much for your support!
