The 12th annual YMCA Veterans Prayer Breakfast was held on November 3rd at the Craig and Steven Hogan YMCA in Madison.
Proud to support our Veterans, Madison Rotarians turned out last Saturday to support the AUSA Wounded Warriors Softball game at the Metro Kiwanis Sports Complex.
We were honored this past week to have as our guest speaker, Paulette Risher, the Program Director for Veteran Employment Services at Still Serving Veterans.
The Rotary Club of Madison is proud to co-sponsor High School Scholarships as part of Vocational Service. This program, developed and administered by the Madison City PTA Council at the request of Madison City Schools, sponsors scholarships of $1000 each to a graduating senior from Bob Jones and James Clemens High Schools who are moving forward to a Technical or Vocational Institution.
In conjunction with the City of Madison, we have the privilege each year of recognizing outstanding Madison City employees representing fire protection, law enforcement, and community services. To be eligible for these awards, the candidate must have been a full time City of Madison employee for the last two years with continuous above and beyond the call of duty performance OR performance of a single outstanding service act for the citizens of Madison.
Still Serving Veterans serves and honors Veterans and their families, transitioning service members, and members of the Guard and Reserves by assisting them in securing meaningful employment and the Veteran benefits they have earned.
In keeping with our 17-year long tradition, Madison Rotarians honored three city employees chosen by their supervisors and peers as outstanding employees of the year. Recognition included a individual plaques, inclusion on the perpetual plaque at City Hall, 4 tickets to our Parrots of the Caribbean event, and a monetary gift.
