Thanks to the SS Kids program, local school children who might not otherwise be able to afford school supplies will be going back to school with a new backpack filled with everything they need to start the new year.
Wal Mart (Highway 20) in Madison once again provided a great location for us to support our partner, the Salvation Army.
Along with other church and community volunteers, Rotarians met at Rainbow Elementary School to help assemble back packs for area school children.
Every December, we schedule shifts throughout a Saturday to ring bells at kettles in front of Madison’s Wal Mart.
Thanks to all our bell ringers this year: the big ones above and the little ones below.
Tornadoes on April 27, 2011 demolished the Harvest Youth Club playground and petting zoo. Madison Rotarians rebuilt the playground last fall and, along with the Harvest Youth Center, dedicated the site on May 8.
In recent years, Madison Rotarians have generously donated funds to the Madison Hospital.
Rotarians volunteered earlier this month to ring the Salvation Army’s bells at our local Wal Mart.
Who doesn’t love hot chocolate and cookies on a winter night?
