Be a part of Madison’s upcoming sesquicentennial (that’s 150 years!) celebration by walking in our very first Volksmarch, October 27, 2018, in historic Downtown Madison.
The Volksmarch originated in Europe as a fun, noncompetitive walk along a safe, predetermined, and marked route with your family, friends, or by yourself. It is open to kids and leashed pets.
Join us on October 27th, 2018, 9AM – Noon, for the fun 5 km (3.1 miles) and watch the history of Madison come alive as you listen to enactors detail the lives of generations of family members buried in the City Cemetery at Mill Road & Maple Street. These are the families who built their homes in the Historical District. Enactments will also tell of the two Civil War battles fought near the Roundhouse on Front Street and along Indian Creek.
Price: $10 per person with commemorative mug; $5.00 participation only; children 5 and under are free. Pets must be on a leash and obey Madison’s Clean City Laws.
Register online at https://madisonalrotary.org/volksmarch, or at 8:00am, October 27th at Madison City Stadium, 211 Celtic Drive.
For more information, email: volksmarch@madisonalrotary.org
Event is Rain or Shine with proceeds from the non-refundable registration fees supporting the Rotary Club of Madison’s continued community service projects.
